Set in the wilds of suburban New Jersey,
KIMBERLY AKIMBO is a hilarious and heartrending play about a teenager with a rare condition causing her body to age MUCH faster
than it should. When she and her family flee Secuacus under dubious circumstances, Kimberly is forced to
reevaluate her life while contending with a hypochondriac mother, a rarely sober father, a scam-artist aunt, her own mortality
and, most terrifying of all, the possibility of first love.
''Kimberly Akimbo'' is at once a shrewd
satire, a black comedy and a heartbreaking study of how time wounds everyone. By crafty degrees, Lindsay-Abaire makes the
case that all of the grown-ups suffer from a more leisurely form of Kimberly's disease: that is, plain old mortality.
He is an expert at tweaking, skewing and finally inverting established formulas. –The New York Times

play shows on THURSDAYS, Fridays, Saturdays at 8 PM, and Sundays at 5PM with a 2PM show on February 26th, (Oscar's
night).

As of May of 2011, ALL seating at Malibu Stage Company is RESERVED seating.

Seat selection is on a first come, first served basis, with our season ticket holders getting first choice. Please see
the seating chart below to indicate your seating preference. (We only have 4 rows, and there really is not
a bad seat in the house.)

Plays usually run Friday and Saturday nights from 8pm until 10pm, and Sunday matinees at 5pm or earlier.
Our regular ticket prices are $25 for our plays, and $35 musicals. Discounts are available by purchasing Season Tickets
for $90 for our 4 play season. Our parking lot is open at 7pm until 11pm on Friday and Saturday nights of plays, and
Sundays from 1 hour before show time until 1 hour after. There are no restaurants or other services within walking distance
of our parking lot. There are snacks and beverages sold in our lobby both before shows, and during intermissions,
where coffee, water, soft drinks, and light snacks such as cookies and treats are available for purchase.
